Isaiah Boodhoo Collection
Abstract
The collection is separated into two accruals. The first set comprises of materials received in 2005 and relate largely to Boodhooʹs professional activities as Curriculum Supervisor for Art in the Ministry of Education, Trinidad and Tobago, and Chief Examiner of Art and Craft, Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC). The items are mainly typescripts, handwritten notes and printed materials. Included are drafts of lesson plans. The second accrual contains items received in 2009, and it provides biographical information, highlights of his career as a painter, as well as the manuscript for his novel Between Two Seasons. A selection of published art books from his personal library also accompanies the collection.

Biographical / Historical
Isaiah James Boodhoo was born in Sangre Grande in 1932 and died in 2004. He was a novelist and one of Trinidad and Tobagoʹs leading artist. He also worked as a Curriculum Supervisor for the Ministry of Education, Trinidad and Tobago and Chief Examiner for the Caribbean Examination Council for Art and Craft.
