Abstract

The collection consists of conference papers, correspondence, lecture notes, pamphlets and reports. The major item is a Proposal for the Development of a Department of Social Work in Trinidad, authored by June Dolly Besson and Ann Wint of the Division of Social Work at Mona UWI, Mona. The Department of Social Work was established at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, in 1990.

Biographical / Historical

June Dolly-Besson joined the staff of U.W.I. in 1961 and was Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Social Work, and Warden of Mary Seacole Hall at the time of her death in 1986. She made a significant contribution in the field of social work.
