Mohammed Shah, M.P. was a barrister-at-law, He was a member of the P.O.P.P.G. but broke with them in 1956 when he decided to withdraw from the general elections which the party had nominated him to contest. Mr. Shah was a San Fernando Borough councillor. He was elected in 1953 and re-elected in 1955. (WIP-7) [May 1958]

Suruj Pat Mathura, M.P., 34, was an Alderman on the P.O.S. City Council. He was elected to the City Council in 1952 to replace his deceased father and has been a member ever since. He sought Legislative council honours in 1956 on a P.D.P. ticket, now embraced in the D.L.P. xecutive and toured the Eastern Caribbean late last year along with other members of his federal party from both Trinidad and Jamaica. Deighton Ward, M.P., 49, was a Barrister. He has been a member of the legislative council, the Barbados Upper House, since 1955. Mr.Ward is the brother of Mr. E.R.L. Ward, former Chief Justice of British Honduras, now Speaker of The House of Representatives. (WIP-9) (May 1958)

Ronald Williams, M.P., 30, was a Director of L.J. Williams Marketing Co. Ltd., his father's concern and Assistant Manager of American Life Insurance Co. He was educated at St. Mary's College and later was graduated from the University of Toronto with the B.A. degree in Commerce and finance. He has been active in the local theatre movement and has been a member of a committee appointed by Government to study the impact of the siting of the Federal Capital of the economy and society of Trinidad. Ernest W. Wakeland, J.P., M.P., Planter and former member of the Trelawny Parochial board. Mr. Wakeland was born at Bethel Town, Westmoreland, and is a member of the Farm development board for the Parish of St. Elizabeth. He is also a foundation member of the New People's Co- operative Bank and of the St. Elizabeth Poultry farmers branch of the All Island Poultry Farmers Ltd. Jamaica. (WIP- 11) (May 1958)
