Scope and Contents St. Kitts-Nevis was one of the major cotton-producing territories in the Caribbean. Around 1917, the islands experienced an infestation of the cotton stainer pest. Several legislations were passed to eradicate the pest, including the hiring of Cotton Inspectors to monitor the situation. The handwritten diary records the observations of a temporary Cotton Inspector working in St. Kitts, 1920-1921.
