These are the handwritten manuscripts of two published novels with the titles: Black and White lovers by ritual; Caribbean Coup: Trinidad and Tobago 1979. Both manuscripts have been published.
Earl Lovelace manuscripts
The collection mainly consists of typed and handwritten notes, drafts and manuscripts of Lovelace's published output - novels, plays and short stories. Manuscripts of the following novels are included: The Schoolmaster; The Dragon Can't Dance; While Gods are Falling; The Wine of Astonishment; Salt. The collection also includes some unpublished works, including poetry.
Sam Selvon Collection
The Sam Selvon Collection spans the period 1948-1985 and consists of manuscripts of Selvon's published works - poems, plays, short stories, articles and non-fiction. It also contains correspondence and manuscripts of many unpublished items.
