Ernest W. Wakeland, J.P., M.P., Planter and former member of the Trelawny Parochial board. Mr. Wakeland was born at Bethel Town, Westmoreland, and is a member of the Farm development board for the Parish of St. Elizabeth. He is also a foundation member of the New People's Co- operative Bank and of the St. Elizabeth Poultry farmers branch of the All Island Poultry Farmers Ltd. Jamaica. (WIP- 11) (May 1958)

Hon. Victor Vaughan, 51, is a Minister without portfolio. He was first elected to the Barbados House of Assembly in 1940 but resigned some 19 monthslater. He tried to re-enter the assembly in 1946, but was not successful. However he won in the elections of 1950 as an Independent, and won in the elections of 1950 as an Independent, and won again in 1956. Barbados (WIP-13) (May 1958)

Hon. Dr. Carl LaCorbiniere, Federal Minister of trade and Industries, is Deputy Prime Minister of the West Indies. Dr. LaCorbiniere, who is 51, was Minister of Trade and Production in St. Lucia. He entered politics there seven years ago and since then was consistently returned to the legislative Council. Dr. LaCorbiniere, who saw service with the R.A.F in the Middle East and Europe, is widely travelled. (May-1958) (WIP-14)

Edward Oliver Leblanc, M.P. ,35, was civil servant before he turned politician. He resigned from the Civil Service in 1952 and went into the agricultural business. He worked with the Banana Association for several years and then last year won a seat on the Legislative Council. He is also a member of the Dominica Labour Party. (May 1958) (WIP-15)

Archdeacon Lachland Lennon, M.P., 73, is a missionary, educationist, agriculturist and politician. He was born and educated in Jamaica but served for a long period in Nigeria. There he founded schools and churhes, promoted agricultural, industrial exhibitions and did social welfare work generally. He was a member of the Western House of Assembly, Nigeria.
