Abstract

The collection contains photographs of Lord Superior and other calypsonians including Lord Brynner, Sparrow, Kitchener, Brigo, and members of the Young Brigade. There are snippets from his life captured in newspaper clippings from the 1950s-2000s. Researchers interested in this collection may also wish to consult an interview with Lord Superior held in the OPReP collection.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Tanzilo Popular Music Collection contains biographical information on many of the significant Reggae music performers of the 1970's through 1990's. These performers are predominantly Jamaican, however Reggae originating outside of Jamaica is also featured. Additionally, some information regarding other Caribbean music forms, such as, Mento, Calypso and Soca are also included.
