Scope and Contents The collection comprises twenty-eight (28) letters, fifteen (15) of which were written by Capildeo himself while he was a lecturer at University College, London. Capildeo wrote thirteen of these letters to Alloy Lequay, then secretary of the DLP. Vernon Jamadar and Thomas Bleasdell, DLP parliamentarians, were the other two recipients. The letters lend an insight into Capildeo as politician. They reveal his difficult and ultimately unsuccessful attempts to lead the party from faraway Britain....

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Tanzilo Popular Music Collection contains biographical information on many of the significant Reggae music performers of the 1970's through 1990's. These performers are predominantly Jamaican, however Reggae originating outside of Jamaica is also featured. Additionally, some information regarding other Caribbean music forms, such as, Mento, Calypso and Soca are also included. Scope and Contents

These materials were collected from the campaign trail of political parties contesting elections in Trinidad and Tobago. The accumulation of materials began in 2010 with the General and Local Government elections. The repository will continue to add to this collection with the hope of acquiring memorabilia from previous elections.
