J. Hamilton Maurice Papers

Overview The collection consists mainly of correspondence, handwritten and photocopied notes, bills, minutes, examiners' reports newspaper clippings and conference papers. Included are several documents relating to the Constitution Commission of Trinidad and Tobago, of which Mr. Maurice was a member. The records largely reflects his work as President of the Senate of Trinidad and Tobago. However, there are also several documents relating to his work as an educator.

Scope and Contents The collection contains materials accumulated by Mrs. Joslynne Carr-Sealey during her career as an opera singer and musicologist. One of the main highlights of the collection is a series of scrapbook with photographs, ephemera and other mementoes from 1953-2009 on theatre arts in Trinidad and Tobago. Researchers can also find information about the Prime Minister's Best Village programme and the Panorama Steelpan competition.
